“[Director of Photography Aaron McLisky, ACS]: It’s about the perspective as well: it’s about a girl who is really losing her grasp on reality, she is unsure what’s true. It speaks to mental health issues, andwhat are intrusive thoughts–are they real? Can they be reasoned with? I guess the spirit world represented a manifestation of these intrusive thoughts. We had a lot of grounded connections to visual ideas and story-based ideas, that were honest and truthful to what the character is going through, and then we were able to marry the two together.”
