“Peacock’s “Long Bright River” takes place in Philadelphia’s Kensington, a low-income neighborhood that has been devastated by the opioid epidemic. Homeless encampments often line Kensington Avenue, where run-down appliance resale stores, garbage bags and other urban detritus abound. “My vision was to honor the beauty and the sadness and decay that exist in Kensington,” production designer Amy Williams said.”
